Hello, Burcu here. I would like to share my creative journey in this space with you. Creativity is an interesting phenomenon. You don’t have much control over it. You never know when it strikes. There are certain things that you can do to welcome it and lure it to visit you, but you can never force it out. The spectacular thing about it, though, is that if it is there and waiting to be realised, it will always find ways to come out; perhaps in a sentence you write or a cake you bake, in a vegetable garden you cultivate or a computer game you code. It is the way to express our individuality and an essential element that makes us who we are. We better watch over it, cherish it and nurture it.

My relationship with words has always been a tough ride. I wish it wasn’t, it would have helped me immensely in academia. But over the years I have found many channels to express my creativity, perhaps even too many. I should admit that I have become a craft junkie. There have been times when I experienced near high sensation after a craft show or a creative course. It is a great feeling, I highly recommend it.

In any case, the website displays my jewellery pieces. So I will mainly be posting about my jewellery making processes, ideas and inspirations. But don’t be surprised if you see something about sewing, knitting or crocheting here and there. I am into mandala making and mixed media painting lately, so they might sneak out every once in a while too. I think you get the idea…

Oh I almost forgot, you might also read me pondering over questions like if there is “non-self” where does creativity come from? or what/who does it express? Yes it is the philosopher in me, and the spiritual journey I am taking is making me ask them. If you are not interested, just ignore.
